Excavation & site work

Getting the ground ready.

Digging, grading, hauling and utility trenches. The work that has to happen before anything gets built.

Typical jobs
Foundation digs, building pads, utility trenches, driveway base
Where
Southwest Montana: Bozeman, Big Sky, Butte, Helena, Livingston and nearby towns
Getting a price
We walk the site first. Ground work gets priced once we've seen the ground.

What site work covers.

Digging footings and basements, building up a pad for a house or a shop, trenching for water, power and sewer lines, grading so water runs away from the building, and a gravel base for the driveway.

Raw land comes first.

On raw land, the driveway, power, well and septic all have to line up before the foundation does. We line the ground work up with the rest of it, so the trenches are open when the utility crews need them.

Priced once we see the ground.

Rock, groundwater and slope change the cost more than anything else, so we get a look at the ground before we give you a firm number.

Site work questions.

Do you take excavation as a standalone job?

Yes, when the schedule allows. We walk the site before we price it.

Do you put in wells and septic systems?

A well is drilled by a licensed driller, and a septic system needs a permit and a licensed installer. We line those up and handle the ground work around them.

Can you build a pad for a shop or pole barn?

Yes. A compacted gravel pad, graded so water runs off it, ready for the slab or the posts.
